There is a new article from Digital Spy about Jessica. She said that she is honoured to be a part of Machete”.
Jessica Alba has said that she is honoured to be a part of the film Machete.
The actress insisted that her film’s storyline goes beyond Hollywood’s stereotypical standards and has a political message that is relevant, reports STV.
“Usually, we’re just entertaining and, most of the time, everything is just pure, commercial entertainment, especially in Hollywood. There isn’t a whole lot of emphasis on much else,” the 29-year-old said.
“Film is used, in other places in the world, for political messages, and it’s an art, in all different forms. Some people don’t have a voice, and their government keeps them from having a voice.
“Knowing that we can participate in something that is socially and politically relevant, even in one of the biggest pop culture makers of the world – Hollywood – that’s awesome.”

“I play a pharmaceutical sales rep who is very, um, outgoing and has no sense of personal space,” Alba recently told MTV News. She hinted that her character might inadvertently try to get a little too close to Stiller’s lovable Gaylord Focker. “She says exactly what’s on her mind and she has no filter at all,” the actress explained. “She was really fun because I’m pretty much the opposite of that.”
Alba admitted that keeping a straight face on set was a big challenge, since most of her scenes were with funnyman Ben Stiller. Still, she had a blast, she said, particularly with her character’s freewheeling ways. “It was just fun and pretty liberating to play someone who was just so open and so free and totally crazy.”

Jessica Alba’s turn in “Machete” – which opens in theaters tomorrow – certainly won’t be her first time teaming up with director Robert Rodriguez; the 29-year-old actress has also worked with the filmmaker for “Sin City” and “Spy Kids 4.”
But “Machete” is nonetheless a change of pace for Alba because she’s playing a Latina in the movie – a role she’s avoided in the past.
“For me, I never wanted to reinforce any stereotypes about Latin women, and that was why I’ve shied away from Latin characters I’ve been offered,” Alba, who is half-Mexican, explained to USA Today. “Most of them reinforced the stigmas. The women whom I grew up with are intelligent, strong women, and unless I read a woman being portrayed that way in a film, I didn’t want to play it.”
Jessica attended the “Machete” Premiere at the 67th Venice International Film Festival today (September 1st). Added to the gallery some photos from this event. Make sure to check them out!

Life.com has a new great exclusive with Jessica Alba at her home. Here’s an excerpt from Life’s website.
Alba stands outside the ornate gate that separates her eclectic dining room from the back patio. Following renovations to the kitchen and other areas of the house, Alba, her husband Cash Warren, and their 2-year-old daughter Honor recently moved back in — and on this day she’s ready to open her doors to a diverse group of guests: a close childhood friend who is now her makeup artist; a cousin and his family; her stylist; a son of her Machete costar Danny Trejo.
